Jumpy corn

I've had my corn since feb now she was fine until last month when it tried to bite me, now every time I try to get her out she either tries to escape or jump out of my hand, could anyone help??

might just be feeling the mating season. try wearing gloves if it makes you feel safer but gently hook a finger around a thicker body coil or scoop up her body with your hand and you should be fine. They often are squirmy at first but usually will calm down again. She may have forgotten her training.

Just a thought, do you use a UTh with thermostat to heat?
And what are the cool side and hot spot temps? How are they measured (dial, digital, probe, etc. thermometers)?

Often very sudden or drastic behavioural changes can be due to environmental factors. Snakes especially react negatively to being overheated!

But glad to see she's back to being herself :)

My guess is that is the problem. Unregulated UTH gets WAY too hot!! Up to over 120F. Your corn is probably overheated (that is what I think). Get a thermostat ASAP!

^^^^^^^^^^THIS!!! You can't have a UTH without the thermostat. I would unplug the UTH for the day and get a thermostat immediately. A UTH that is too hot can burn or cause brain damage to your snake if it gets too close. Please take care of this right away, we want your baby to be safe!
