If you can't hold the feeding tub so he can slither back into his viv, you can gently pick him up and put him in there. Just wait until the lump is @ 1/2 way down his body.
okay, i waited about 20 min. i think it is okay. when i went to grab him he rattled his tail but from what you have all said i just gently picked him up anyway and he settled down and i gently put him back. i hope i did this okay. it was my first time
The Rattler!! Hey, I have a snake here on breeding loan that rattles so much I renamed her Buzztail!
When the meal stops moving, it's in the stomach. Safe to gently replace the snake in his home. Now you know you need to wait two or three days till you handle him again, right? After two days, if you are wanting to handle him, take a peak at him and just make sure there's either a poo in his viv or no feeding lump. Oh- and if there _isn't_ a poo in his viv- handling makes them go!! If you see a big lump near his vent- maybe hold off handling for a little while.
nanci - THANK YOU FOR THAT. i prolly wouldnt have figured that out (the poop thing) lol you just saved me being pooped on. i never even thought of that. im surprised at how fast they eat tho!
