Just-hatched hatchling care...(continued from "hatchling self-cohab" thread)?

After having started a discussion in this thread that went a bit off the topic (which was totally ok!), I thought that I'd ask my other questions here in a new thread, totally pertaining to the topic. :)

My only concern would be if poop or what not got stuck right wher ethe lid meets the deli cup it could be hard to clean.

I personally use the sandwich tubs from glad that are resealable. They're easy to stack and I can fit the little 2 oz solo cups in for water bowl. And they're about the same size as a napkin, so I use that for a "substrate".

So...how long do your hatchlings stay in these containers? For such small containers, I would worry about warm & cool sides...or is that just accomplished with the heat tape (which I understand how it works, but I haven't worked with it before...)? How "old" are hatchlings when they're ready for sale? I've generally heard after they've held down 4 meals...so, approx 2 weeks of age? As soon as I bring home my hatchling, I always put him/her in a 10-gallon tank -- which I know for a breeder would not be feasible, as far as space is concerned! So, as a breeder, when do you move each hatchling to a larger-sized container?

I start advertising hatchlings after they've had three meals. Generally I sell out of hatchlings before they need upgraded (3-6 months). My hatchling racks aren't heated (the bins are too small to safely use heat tape without over heating), but the room is 76-78 over the summer.
