I'm flying to St Louis, Mo today and I wasn't thrilled about flying on 9-9-11 to begin with but now with the terrorist threats in NYC and DC I'm really getting nervous. This will be my sons first time flying but not mine. I know Texas and Missouri aren't anywhere near there but you just don't know...

Just keep us in your thoughts and prayers today please.

I believe that they are threatening us because they know that in many hearts they have won. Their mission was to instill fear in Americans. But, I will pray for ya.

I remember, in the days right after, thinking, how can we ever feel safe again, the world has changed and will never be the same. Now, while we are overwhelmed at times with seemingly-silly regulations that probably don't do much for actual security, there has never been another successful attack on American soil.

Haha...nanci that's reminded me at Dallas I saw a guard who had two ladies pulled aside trying to explain to them why they couldn't bring their lotion in with them. Lol they told me I couldn't bring orajel even...LOL. but our second plane landed at 11:40 and happy to say safely! My son was overall great and actually enjoyed the ride.

I had a phone call as I was writing that and lost my train of thought, which was, now, ten years later, while the terror of September 11th and the days and months to follow can be easily recalled if I try, for the most part, it has receded. I feel safe. I feel like maybe, _maybe_ someone might get lucky and stage a minor attack, and be successful, but I don't think there will ever be an attack on the scale of 9/11 ever again.

My parents were at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked. My dad was stationed there. I wonder if they felt the same feelings in the days and months afterwards as we did on September 11th. It definitely changed their lives when we went to war.
