A yellow snake? A butter perhaps? :shrugs:

thanks i thought there were different types of snows? maybe not but i could have thought i seen a thing on the internet of the morphs and there was a different type of snow... humph! i try to keep my corns in the best shape possible by giving them their attention and what they need... thanks for the comments!

and you know whats funny, i never know when the snow is in shed because i can never tell but those pics where just taken and the snow just shed today! can you even tell he is in shed?

I was just going to ask you to post an update here when they shed haha

I noticed the snows eyes are pink, are they usually more red?

usually the center is red but i never have seen it in shed.. ive only seen it right after shed or long after it shed... haha my luck. well the snow is geting so long! i got it in december and it was only 13 inches and now its already 20-24 inches! i cant believe how fast they grow... but my big corn is a slow grower.. he hasnt gained much lately and he still ahsnt shed either... i gave him a bath yesterday... hoping that would help him shed in one piece... i like it when they do that cause it makes me want to save them!

My Anery shed yesterday while I was gone to work. I was surprised to come home and find her skin laying there! I was so happy, it was all in one piece and she looked great! I'll be taking pictures and then sending the skin to my Mom. :dgrin: Or maybe my boyfriend will find it in his sock drawer.... Okay not really. :p

Curiously, how do you bathe your snakes? :shrugs:

Just so you know you don't need to "bathe" your snakes on a regular basis Ice. Swimming snakes is usually only used when their skin is stuck, or they need the excersise because they're grossly overweight, or to keep a breeding female fit for the season to lay safely.

i only do it every shed so before they shed it is nice and smooth to get off otherwise they usually cant! then its all over their cage so its easier in one piece. my okeetee still hasent shed yet....i wish it would though....

There's an easier and less stressful way than to give them a bath.
You can either mist their viv, or build them a humid hide. I'm sure they'd "like" it better.

what would be a good way to make this humid hide? what would i make it out of so it could fit a corn snake..and is it just wet paper towl or can i use moss or something like that?

For a humid hide, you can use any kind of container with a lid, just cut a hole in the side large enough for the snake to get in and out of easily. I use a rubbermaid container for my Boa. There are also commercially available snake caves from exoterra. I prefer moss, but paper towels have been used successfully by a number of people as well.

As for the swimming question, I fill my bathtub with a couple inches of water that is lukewarm or slightly cooler. Then I let the snake swim around, making absolutely sure that they don't go near any open drains, including the overflow drain. If they get in there you won't be able to get them out unless they want to come out. If you want to be sure about your water temps use a thermometer and make sure it is within the comfort range for your snakes.
