Just not hungry?

I offered my hog a pinkie tonight (he hasn't eaten since Wednesday.) It's been over an hour and he's just not biting. Is that long enough? Do I leave him with it a little longer, or just wait another day or two and try again?

Is it possible he's going into shed? Did he eat fine for you Wednesday? Like, quickly? I might do one reheat, and then if he doesn't take it in an hour, then offer again in four or five days, if he isn't blue.

No sign of shedding, I just got him Saturday morning though. I'm guessing we probably didn't give him enough time to settle in. I'll warm it a little bit and give him some more time before "I" need to go to bed!

Thanks, I'm trying to read through the posts to see what everyone else goes through!

Without handling.

Yes Mom...

I love this forum, BTW. I came here researching corns and then decided on the hognose! But you have so many helpful people here, and they are so active. Most of the other forums are real quiet. It's nice to know I can lurk and read and learn, and then pop my head up when I get stumped! Newbies, huh?

We got home from our Labor Day camping trip last night. By the time we unloaded the car, got dinner, and did our homework, we decided to wait just one more day. (My boys are at their dad's for the week now.)

I thawed Sweets' pinkie, and dried it off. I put him in the deli cup with his dinner, replaced the lid, set the timer for an hour and left the room. After about 40 mins (thirsty!) I reheated his mouse and then left him in the dark. I checked him when the timer went off again, there is a big lump in my snake! I gave him clean water, locked his lid, and now I'll let him digest.

I'm relieved that he ate for me, how long should it be before he gives me another surprise?!
