lol ty :) I thought so too! :) I went to the breeder to get the lil Lavander I got.. and came home with him too as I couldn't pass him up!

now i am very, VERY confident that this boy is het. blood. nearly positive.

HELP ME CONVINCE DAVE TO LET ME USE HIS BLOOD FEMALE TO PROVE HIM OUT!

we got a pair of bloods from Pete at IslandCorns, but Dave wants to breed them together, and i want to test this mystery anery this year!

Digging up this old beast of a thread.

I must have posted the results of the clutch somewhere else on the site. But in the 2010 season he was paired with an Anery het. Amel. We got ALL Aneries!

THIS season (2012) he is being paired with a blood female POSS HET ANERY, so I have a chance to prove them both out. Prove him out for blood, which I have yet to do, and prove her out for Anery.

If only the male proves out (for blood), I'll get 1/2 Normals het. Granite, and half Bloods het. Anery. If only female proves out (for Anery) I'll get 1/2 Normals het. Granite and half Aneries het. Blood. If they BOTH prove out I'll get 1/4 Normal het. Granite, 1/4 Blood het. Anery, 1/4 Anery het. Blood, and 1/4 Granite. If none prove out, I'll get all normals het. Granite. Confusing, hey?

And another little update. The blood poss. het. Anery we were going to pair him with...has BLEEPING PENES!!!!!!!!!!!!

SO DISAPPOINTED!!!! Talked to the breeder and it's most likely going to get swapped out with a female sibling. BUT STILL, FML.

The other blood female (that's ACTUALLY a female) is gravid right now, so the waiting game is still happening. Cross your fingers he's het. Blood!

Update, 2 clutches from this "weirdo" are in the incubator!

We had an incubator malfunction and lost 2 clutches this season though :S Swapped the ExoTerra heat mat for a stripe of Flexwatt though, so hopefully the problem has been dealt with.

I'm really hoping it's smooth sailing from here on out.

Will keep you guys posted on what hatches!

OOH! Can't wait to hear more progress, you've had a booger of a time trying to prove him out!

Couldn't he be an anery that's also displaying masque? Masque will produce a belly and head pattern just like your guy. Furthermore, masque is a dominant trait that can be acquired without the diffusion gene. What did last year's hatchlings look like? Did any have a belly pattern similar to him?

Hey Mitchell, could you please give me some more info & resources on "Masque" as I've never actually heard of it!

Yes, some of his offspring did have some off checkers. Well, one did, anyways. Most of them had normal belly checks. He was bred to an Anery het. Amel and we got 100% Aneries and that particular clutch produced one with some weird striping in the neck area, and some split belly checks as well.

I will try & dig up some photos of his offspring.

Hey guess what guys. STILL HAVEN'T BLEEPING FOUND ANYTHING OUT ABOUT THIS BOY!!!! First the incubator malfunction, then his mate being a male. THIS SHOULD BE THE YEAR.

Gosh, I hope this is the year. SO. FRUSTRATING!

Thanks Janine!

His mate is in her pre-lay shed right now! Really hoping nothing else goes wrong. This mating will help me figure out weather he is het. bloodred, and weather his bloodred mate is het. anery. She is 66% ph. Anery so I'm hoping they both prove out. I know the chances of that are slim to none, but one can dream!

I'm still waiting for my christmas/blood project to get off the ground, as last year my trio only managed 1 small clutch that I found dessicated under a waterbowl. This year they are viewing each other with contempt, so I feel your pain!
I got my Christmas hypo 6 years ago, got my het babies 4 years ago.......it does take patience sometimes!

Okay. FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2 noses have pipped! This has seriously been YEARS in the making, so hopefully within the next few days we will know weather he carries the Bloodred gene or not!

Wow-I just read back over this thread from the beginning-I Really hope the blood proves out for you-been a long wait!! :)

Thanks - it sure has!

I'm not going to lie, I'll be a little bit disappointed. He was paired with a Bloodred who was also 66% ph. Anery, so this is actually an attempt at proving out two hets!

If neither prove out I may cry a little bit :p
