My snake has never had any issues with feeding. Not sure the age but I got him on Sept. 5th 06. He is now about 22 inches long. But what I would like to know is. I feed hm FT and I never see him try to coil. I have seen other corns coil FT. Is this a normal thing for mine to never coil a FT?

I feed mine mostly f/t, but occasionally have put in a live pink, such as when it's feeding day, and I just purchased live pinks from the store, I will feed one live to avoid re-freezing. Anyhow, the point is, I've never seen my snake constrict, even with the live two that she has gotten. She just swallows it down, squeaks and all...

My snake never bothers constricting... she seems to recognise that it isn't moving or struggling and just takes her time flicking her tongue to find the best place to begin swallowing. I think it's pretty normal-- it's a some do, some don't, kind of scenario.

OK well I think Bruce is just lazy. :) BTW recent pic.

Mine sometimes do and sometimes don't. Once I was dangling a f/t on tongs and my snake constricted that. But he has also eatten live pinks without constricting. But I've noticed usually they tend to constrict when I feed live and doesn't when I feed f/t. I think as they get older and the preys get bigger, they might constrict more? Just a thought... Someone with more experience will probably with you a better answer :)

Mine never constricted on pinkies but when I moved her up to fluffies she sometimes constricts, after the head is already in her mouth.

I think it is just a "some do, some don't" kinda thing.

That's a sharp looking set up there. Does Bruce climb a lot?

Yeah he climbs a ton. If he continues as an adult I will have to build him something with some height to it.

Whoops forgot to add:

I Know that I've made my corns constrict in the past. Placed a pink on the tongs and wiggled it around and they tighten up around it. Other than that they dont' constrict. Which I am fine with, it's neat to watch them eat anyways.
