Justin Bieber has a pet BCI

What was meant as a poke at pop culture has turned into a catfight, witch hunt and mudslinging contest.

No one has to like Bieber or his music. People can voice their opinions on both sides of this fence because this is still a free country. My opinion is that this thread needs to end. There isn't anything else that can be said for or against this subject.

Has anyone considered how an influx of interest in boa species might impact our governments attempts to ban these snakes? A couple thousand screaming fans spending a couple million dollars on snakes and equipment could go a long way towards showing a viable opposition to such nonsense...

But instead, you'd rather insult, insinuate, and denigrate the guy, without an inkling of an idea as to what his care level is for this animal. Really quite unbelievable...

You know, I never even considered how much of a good thing Beiber may be doing by getting that little boa. Let's hope that you're right on that one! I certainly am worried about that ban, I know my friend who bred boas got out of them real quick a few months ago. He kept his retics, but I know they're on that list too.

I will admit that I haven't read through the entire thread with a fine-toothed comb; however, from what I did read, this thread seems to host more of a harmless debate than a malicious group altercation. While sometimes a vexatious trait, some people, myself included, relish in having a friendly argument. So long as the banter doesn't turn into insults, and the assertions don't turn into personal attacks, I think it's an entirely sound subject.

This website accommodates a wide gambit of personalities, many of them passionate and argumentative in nature (traits that I both admire and possess!) As a result, arguments will inevitably ensue. That doesn't mean that anyone is creating a hostile or unpleasant environment, but rather challenging others to utilize their own knowledge and cleverness to contradict or support their notions. I think that creates stimulating and well thought conversations; those of the sorts of conversations I want to be apart of!

Nobody said Bieber himself was doing the husbandry. I'm sure it has a proper enclosure and everything. Why wouldn't it? It's people who don't have the money or space for giant snakes who run into problems, not billionaires who have somebody hired just to maintain the snake. And his fans are little girls. Are their parents going to let them get boa constrictors because Justin Bieber got one?

Yep, and two girls currently hold the top bid (I think). It says in the disclaimer to "provide outdoor housing"...why would a boa require outdoor housing?

He did just demonstrate that a boa is disposable and obviously not a long term commitment--if you don't want the snake anymore, just sell it to any random person who will claim to take stellar care of poor snake! Of course, the snake could go off to a snake person, and I do dearly hope that he does, but there is also a high chance of him going off to an obsessed Bieber fan who doesn't care for the snake whatsoever.

I was indifferent to Justin Bieber before, now I am disliking him intently for auctioning off a living creature. This isn't like the reptile community auctioning off snakes to help someone in the community. This is a publicity stunt, pure and simple. Does anyone in his circle even care about the future of this animal? It's just so sad to see what pop culture does.

Terms: Includes: Justin Bieber's baby boa constrictor. Additional shipping charges will apply based upon location of winner. The winning bidder will be screened upon the close of the auction. The welfare of this snake is the sole responsibility of the adopter. The adopter agrees to give the snake good care which includes quality premium food, fresh water, sanitation and grooming, clean and secure indoor housing, clean and secure outdoor housing and overall safety. Winner must sign a Personal Injury and Limited Liability release, and must guarantee necessary vet care will be provided.

That's more than a lot of sellers ask or do, to be fair....

actually the only way I would pay that much for his snake is if I could have all snake keeping related items that Justin currently has i.e. the viv, food, bedding, etc. oh and i would have to pick up the items personally from Justin so that I could drop kick him the face as well. :D

Based on the verbiage I am sure he didn't, or someone for him, write it. I am sure that is something that the auction website says they have to put up. I will have to look and see if there are any other animals up for auction.

It doesn't matter who wrote it... They is da rules that have been set...
Instead go through the ads on here, or better still the auction lots on here and show me where a 'responsible' seller is making rules half way as good as that...

I'm getting the feeling that people are ticked off because it's JB and not any other reason...

We don't see people sounding off about Kerry King the same do we??
And he sells at shows with no provisos before sale is made... Just a though..

Well Slayer sucks anyway and that's all I have to say about that. :)
It's about the reptiles, dude........

Never mind about the music....
JB or Slayer are not my cup of tea and I wouldn't blow smoke up KK **** just because of the band....
But he does keep some fantastic snakes....
Not quite as good as mine, but I'm sure he will get there eventually... ;)
