Am I alone on this, but I love the way mine feels, even the kids love to kiss them on their backside (towards the middle of their body) I love to rub my lips & chks against their skin. For some weird reason I feel this is wrong human behavior. (even though I feel its ok to kiss our other pets) The Corns don't mind, & my hubby thinks I give them more attention than I do him! :shrugs: And a few nights ago I swear Dani gave me a kiss on my lips! W/ his tongue!! :rolleyes: After my baby talking him! Even my 2 older children swear they get kisses on their nose, chks & ears! Do Corns show love? I swear mine do! Hubby thinks I'm CRAZY! He says snakes have no emotions, no reasoning etc...I swear they love me/kids baby talking to them. They stare at us as if they understand!!

Who here gives their pet Corn/snake kisses? Am I the only one who has the urge to kiss on them?? :eek1:
 
I kiss my birds, snakes and lizard all the time. I've done so my whole life. I'm not dead yet. YMMV.

You said it not even close, hand sanitizer, nope don't kiss. I talk to them but that is more for my amusement then theirs. Agree with hubby not capable of emotion. With that in mind if you feel your snake loves you go for it. I used to work in an ER and have seen people with salmonella, :puke01: :puke01: :puke01: , susan

I don't kiss my dogs either or let them kiss me color me paranoid, but nope, no way. The one time my snake was around my neck and poo'd down my shirt, I went straight to the bleach.
:-offtopic What is ablack alibino corn? I probably asked that before but I have crp, sos, you name my brain is mush.

I have been poo'd on twice & am the same way! Very paranoid but their tongues touching me doesn't bother me. Bare w/ me I am learning....:)

Nanci~ My friend who has horses, cats, dogs & birds swears by giving them this type of affection. TG she has not gotten the bird flu! YIKES!! Shoot my Aunt Helen raised birds & would have those suckers at the dinner table at Thanksgiving feeding the babies their bird food. Man I loved that Woman. RIP!

I think that's illegal in 49 of the 50 states!!! :grin01: Wouldn't just be worried about the salmonella,what about swallowing a couple worm or fluke eggs while your making out with your snake. :shrugs:

LOL I haven't kissed mine on her head or face cuz I was worried about getting her sick. Didn't even think of the things she could be carrying to get me sick lol.
I do kiss her back though, and she wraps around the back of my neck like a half necklace.

I'm sure you are right about STD's, but that's why humans use pretection against STD's. Of course the incedent of human/human contact is greater then human/snake. I like my cats but don't kiss them either.
If I want to kiss something shaggy and hairy there's always my hubby

I have had my snakes 'kiss' me on the nose or cheek every once in a blue moon, but I restrain myself from kissing 'em back. Salmonella is not a pretty sight... :sidestep: I do like to think that it's a reptillian way of showing affection, though in actuality I know that they're just sniffing me and seeing what's up.

On a side note, I kiss my kitty on the forehead sometimes, usually when she greets me by giving the head bump. ^_^ And I used to kiss my dog London in the same fashion. All pets need head kisses.
 
When I first got Maize..I couldn't help but rub her against my face and my lips as well..I love the feeling of her scales ( I won't do this with Striker since me and him still aren't exactly at a great relationship yet..but I think he's coming around) anyway..Once I found out how they can harbor salmonella..I never let Maize near my face again..I hold her and still love her and talk to her..but I won't let her near my face or lips and I wash my hands after handling her ALWAYS..for her safety..and mine..heheheh....all other pets though (cats and dog)..yea..I love getting and giving kisses.. :0) :grin01: :grin01:
 
I used to "kiss" one of my snakes by touching noses. This stop when it struck and attached itself to the end of my nose. :eek1:

I do kiss my dog. He is a big affectionate baby.

Also, I had a cat once that liked to lick ice cream from my mouth. Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey was his fave. :p
 
OMGosh now I am all freaked out about Salmonela! Was cooking hubby burgers tonight & all I could think about was this thread 'I started!' I am afraid I will get it 'somehow'! So I burnt his meat! :flames: He was not happy! :twoguns:
Even Chloe-Anne (my pig) wanted to be rubbed & give kisses & I caught myself & thought what diseases she may have that I could get! I've had her since she was a baby & is now 13! YIKES! :eek1:
WOW will I recover from all the kisses in the past to ALL my pets? (Except the Apple Snails...lol)
