Lava ´07

Gee I don't know why you like him... He's so bright and handsome. Who would want a snake like that??? ;)

Dang! Really nice looking.

Question:
So what's the difference between a Lava and Fire?

I'm no expert here, but do you see the gray peeking out from between some of the scales... My fires have no gray... and I know for sure that's only part of the difference.

Gray is good!!! LOL.

Oh! So maybe that means that lava's typically are hypo fire's or fires are amel lava's? Lol

Lava is said to be a Trans gene and may be the result of another kind of Hypomelanism. I believe it's Hypo D "third Hypo trait"
It is said to be a recessive mutant it acts the same as other hypos reducing the melanin and creates a brighter overall appearance. I do not believe the Lava has anything to do with BR.
The lines are being investigated to determine it's relationship ti other known strains.

Lava's can look like amels with their red wine eye shine due to the reduced melanin but they are not unless made to be amel. A fire is an Amel BR

Stunning! I'm really falling in love with the lava and lava combos. I'm hoping to hatch some out this year...if my pairs would start thinking about mating...
