Lavender Or No ? Asking $75 Cdn

There is a gentleman getting out of the Corn Snake business. He's got some Lavenders for sale for $75-$100. Is this a good price?

Depending on where you are in Canada, I know in Alberta I see them easily go for $75-$90 even at shows for hatchlings.
Send me a PM and I can maybe give you a few more ideas for other breeders up here depending on where you are and what age you are looking for :)

75 for an adult female is a decent deal 100 is not to bad. Ask him if he can give you a deal on pairs or multiples. 150 for an adult pair is a nice price.

Forgive my ignorance as I've only purchased babies...why would the cost for an adult go up? I paid $15 for my lavender, granted he is a special needs baby...the breeder I got him from had other healthy lavender babies for $35-40. Is it because they are up to breeding age already? I'm just curious :)

I think we're seeing the price difference because we're in the US, and they're in Canada!
I bought Zephyr for $40 as a near adult size with several good hets.

Yup an adult female Lavender could very easily go for 75-100 dollars here in Canada. Just not a very common morph. I will most likely be pricing my Lavenders het Hypo, Amel at about 70 and my Hypo Lavenders het Amel at about 100.

I think the main reason for price differences between babies and adults, is that all the hard work, and growing has been done. You won't have to wait 3 years (for females) to be able to breed them, so it's like a shortcut. And the cost of the mice it has been fed as it grows will add up. If you look in the for sale forum, the adults tend to be more expensive than the babies. I hope that made since. Felt kind of rambley to me. Oh well.

is it a gray lavender, a lavender lavender, a pink lavender, hypo? Stripe? Etc? I think it's best to take a look at the specific individual and decide if it is the specific one right for you., and to ignore the price until you find the one which fits your needs. Some people feel any gene will do; others are looking for something visually specific, especially if there are long term breeding plans/goals. I've paid $10.- to $300.- for lavenders.
