I have some fake plants hanging on the back wall of his viv that he almost never leaves. There's 6(!!) hides on the aspen, and ive never seen him spend more then 10 minutes in one. I've seen him sit on TOP of the warm hide, but that's about it.

He does come down to explore and get a drink, but he never really hangs out down there.

I'm not really worried about it, just think it's kind of funny. :grin01:

Oh, here's a pic I took the other night of him hanging out in the plants.

Cute! My Eastern Hognose Addy loves to climb, too.

If you are a paid member of the site, you can edit. $25/year. So worth it.

Are you sure that your temperatures are correct? Maybe its too hot on the floor for him? But it does look like he has some nice coverage there so I bet it feels pretty safe as well. Beautiful snake ;)

My room is a pretty constant 72-73 degrees, and the warmside thermometer ranges from 84-87 depending on if the thermostat has the UTH off or on. I used an infared thermometer and the surface temperature under the warm hide was around 78.

He was in one of the hides this morning when I woke up, and hasn't left yet...so who knows.
