Local Herp Society?

I've seen lots of people advise contacting your local herp society for various needs. My question is how? Where do you go to find them? A search of the phone book turned up numbers for my local Kennel Club and Equine Society, but no reptile club. The pet stores are clueless, and I don't know anyone else who owns reptiles. An internet search only turned up turtle clubs and reptile rescue groups in far-flung parts of my state.

I've got a new baby that's not eating f/t, so I'm desperately trying to find a live pinky. None of the pet stores have them, so I'm hoping to find a nearby herper who can help me out...

I apologize to all for referencing the "K" site. :) Unfortunately, many clubs use that site for hosting and posting. Try looking for a Local Herp Club here. You can also Google for your state's society. Here is VA Herp Society's page. They will often have points of contact for smaller local clubs.

Hope that helps you out. :)
