Looking for another WIR regular author replacement. Toshiro has respectfully removed himself from contributing. Kyle? Let me know. I haven't received a response from all the alternates, so I'm not sure if/when this week's WIR will get posted. :shrugs:

I hate to say it, because I know many people like the WIR, but I personally have never looked at it. I don't need the week summed up for me. Every day I look around at what I want to read and call it good. It seems a lot of work that few people are willing to put in and I haven't really understood the need for it. In theory its great, no doubt, but if no one shows interest in taking on the task, then maybe it isn't worth continuing. Just my .02 on the subject.

Maybe I could fill in this time and see if I like doing it? I have to go to work in an Hour. So if you don't mind me working on it later on tonight/morning?

You're hired! Tonight or tomorrow morning would be fine. Cover these dates from last week if you could please: Sunday, January 10th through Saturday, January 16th, to be posted 1/18

Thanks!! Let me know what you think after slapping one together. With the schedule the way it is you'd only be looking at one every four weeks.

Oh is there anyway to search threads that were just posted during that time period? I'm hoping there is. Lol

Trent, I don't think so. I usually go by category. I start in the photo gallery and go back to the posts for the dates I'm covering. Then I go to general chit chat and look for photos there....then maybe misc. discussions...my WIRs are generally photo-themed, while others really go all out with certain discussions, birthdays, etc. I try to put all new members up, but sometimes I just don't have the time. If you try to spend a few minutes on the new stuff each day, it's much easier. This is your first time, and I hope Brent won't mind my saying this, but just get your feet wet this time. It's really hard to go back and start from the very beginning, ESPECIALLY if you've never done it before. The WIR is nice and people enjoy it, but we'll survive if you miss stuff.

It really is a fun thing to do once you get into your own way of doing it. It's amazing how much stuff I miss that I catch up on during my weeks. Thanks for giving it a shot, and if you need help or have questions, feel free to pm me or any of the authors.

Thanks, Brent...and good job with the search!

Trent, also, remember that you can only put ten images on each page....I didn't know this the first time I did it, and it really confused me. Now I copy the whole thing to a word doc and use *****page break***** after each set of ten. That makes it easy for me to just copy and paste each page. Sometimes I do it on the test area, too, but I just don't "submit." These are just a few suggestions. :)

You know what would be reeeeeeaally cool?! If some of you "veteran" WIR contributors could/would put together a short-ish How To guide that I could post in the author rotation thread . . . :sidestep:

I can do that. We probably all do it a bit differently, but I'll gladly throw something together for my way. I will, of course, expect a 10% salary increase.

Lol.. Thanks for the tips guys. I have Tracie and Jeni coming over to check out the snake collection. So once they leave I'll start on it! :)

I'll definitely PM anyone if I have quesitons.
