Looking for Avalanche Corn

Brionuhh

Quick Learner
I'm looking for a male baby avalanche corn snake. Preferably with a recent hatch date. I'm looking for something under or around $100 since it is going to be my first snake. I'm not looking to breed him so genetics are really a concern for me. I have a roommate who had a corn snake for a first snake and now has an albino Colombian Boa right now.

We should have a few Avalanches het for Charcoal and Hypo ready to go in about a month or so. We're still getting them established and are getting our FedEx certification. The cost of the animal should be below $100, but shipping would probably put you over that mark.

Lots of hets for out there, getting a messlode of recessive genes all visible consecutively takes some doing. And then it takes a few more line-bred generations to get enough of them to reliably be produced in quantity enough to sell off some of. But you are not wrong to try to get a lot of unrelated stock.feel free PM me for more info. Interlacing is the key.

Yarmuck: Would you happen to have any pictures of the hatchlings?

Dave Partington: I want to say I fully understand, but sadly I do not. That was mostly another language to me.

Oh I can NOT handle all that cute! I'm very interested. About how much are you thinking to charge?

Nanci - beautiful snakes there!

Brion - Dave is saying that to get an Avalanche you need a bunch of recessives traits to line up. You have to get Anery, Amel and Diffusion all in the same snake to have an Avalanche. The more traits it takes to get the morph, the more it is going to cost at first. When they get real common, the price will go down. Nanci's price on hers is good. A morph I want, a Peppermint Motley is a three trait one, Amel, Cinder & Motley, and an average price for it is $650.

Thank you!

The hypo avalanche stripe is still quite rare. And probably not visually very different from an avalanche stripe. What's the difference, then? With a hypo avalanche, striped or not, you can create hypo bloodreds and ghost bloodreds, if you have the right mate. For this clutch I bred the father, Pepper, a hypo avalanche stripe, to John Finsterwald's Annabelle, a hypo bloodred het amel, anery, stripe. So in the past two seasons that pair has produced hypo avalanches, hypo fires, hypo bloodreds and ghost bloodreds, in both saddle-pattern and stripe (except for the hypo bloodreds, which they have only produced in stripe so far). It's much more fun to have a clutch with a whole bunch of morphs than a clutch with only even the rarest morph. For me, anyway.

Can't go wrong with a Snickersnake. However, I do have trouble trusting people who use the word coral. :spinner:

Thank you Nanci, but I'm not looking for a hypo really. I'm not looking to do any breeding.
Pugsley, I already talked to Dave about it but thank you.
Fyrefocks, whats wrong with coral? Or is that some sort of herp joke I don't get yet. lol

Nanci's snakes are truly beautiful and worth it. As for the one's I was talking about... Well... *ahem* We hadn't sexed them until tonight and all 4 of them are girls. I couldn't believe the odds!

Well, when the 3 Fires and 2 Granites were males, and the 4 Avalanches were all females, clutch-wise the numbers added up. But when you see the skew on the genders vs. genetics it was really something else.

Yarmuck: Thats a bit upsetting, I suppose. I'm still interested in a female avalanche anyways. I'm just so excited to get a baby corn. I have barely left the forum. :D

Hypo doesn't affect the appearance of avalanche, so I don't know why this would even factor into it. Seriously, that makes no sense....You're not looking to do any breeding, so you say the hets/whatever don't matter, but a random gene that changes NOTHING about how the snake looks is a no? I'm confused.

From what I have looked up, hypo makes them more pink. If I'm wrong, sorry. But like I said before I am new to this. I'm looking for a good price and good color. I guess I am just looking for options. I supposed to you thats the wrong thing?
