Hi all! I just want to see how many of you have red motleys...post pics if you have them...I'd love to take a look. I'm giong to try to take a pic of my Red Motley to post soon! (If dang computer lets me!)
Carol, first let me start by saying i am new to corn snakes, so i am only trying to learn. What makes that snake a striped motley? To me it appears to be a Striped, as i see no motley pattern. Was the motley patterning there when it was younger and it faded?
Well, I'm not Carol, but I think I can help you out. If I understand the genetics correctly, the motley gene causes a lot of variety in pattern. It can express itself as either spots, stripes, or a combination of the two. So that striped snake has the same genes as a spotted motley, it's just being expressed as stripes.
