Lucky Joe - Eastern Hognose

runninghorsespirit

They call me Cent
He is known as Lucky. He was attacked by my dog over a week ago. He has been taken into the vet. He got a stitch and deworming. Hydrotherapy is twice a day and he is healing up nicely. He does have an old injury to his left eye that scared it up to where he is blind in that one eye. Well I wouldn't be posting him on here unless he was staying but he is now. Due to my dog ripping his jaw, his tongue was damaged to where it was only attached by just the ligament and no response to touch or movement. Tonight checking his mouth and tongue.... he is now tongueless. I was warned by the vet it would slough off and he would ingest it if it wasn't functional. If he didn't regain function of his tongue he would have a rougher time of it hunting and escaping from predators. Long story shorter at best, he is staying. He can eat a mix diet of frogs and rodents. Lucky for me he is Mr. Gentleman. lets me gently open his mouth to look inside with little fuss. Anyways here is Lucky Joe:

Awwww! Poor guy! :( But VERY lucky for you to have found him, and give him a home that he can live out the rest of his days comfortably.
