Maasai - African House Snake

AHH!... I want one. ;)

Robbie, what temperature gradient do you house yours at? I've found some varying info on the web.

I have been having a major urge for a python-looking snake in a small scale, and I was looking at Children's pythons, but I like these soooo much better.

Would you say they're appropriate for someone with only a few years experience?

I keep them at the same temp as the rest of my snake room. 80*F. Both of my house snakes seem to be very comfortable at that temperature, and they digest rather quickly.

I'd definitely say they're good for someone with only a few years experience. Remember, I've only been keeping snakes for just over 3 years!

Ok, so sounds like a standard corn heat gradient would be fine, although from what I'm reading maybe a little hotter on the hot side.

Really? Well you know, there's that thing about... 20 years experience or 1 years experience 20 times... LOL

I guess I'll see what's at Tinley...

Well, they are African snakes. LOL. On that note, they also like it a teeny bit drier.

Good luck! If Ben Siegel is there, pick up one from him, if he has any babies. I got my male from him, and he's a little sweetheart, and eats like it's nobodies business!

Nice! I always see these guys when I drive out to one of the bigger reptile shops in my area, and I'm always soooo tempted.
