Very nice John, I have a regular '09 female Kastanie corn...I plan on making some neat combos in the future...the mandarin/albino look is very attractive... a nice sherbert orangey coloration! Congrats on the A+ animal

good question. I don't have any experience in raising mandarins up from hatchling to adult. I believe the number of mandarins from this lineage is under 20 in total, maybe less. Frank kept only a small number and the rest was sold - unproven. I don't know if a het caramel affects the colour of kastanies/mandarins anywise. I assume the differences would be very very small, so it's hard to tell without the possibilty to compare her to (proven) animals of her lineage.

The kastanies show usually a rust-brown colouration. The colour is a pretty unique mix of red and brown - in my opinion there is no other morph which is showing this specific colour. I've seen outcrossed lines of kastanie and the differences are huge - exactly like in normals. there are animals which are really really deep coloured with thick borders and much orange and other show VERY MUCH less colour but more browen tones. some are lighter, others are darker. At the moment, I believe it's pretty hard to tell anything about the expression of "het marker" or anything else because the other looks of the different lineages are confusing enough :D

I'm sorry John, I don't know the answer to your question :shrugs:
