mbk cross?

diamondlil

Mice! They taste so nice!
has anyone crossed corns with mexican black kings? If so what were the results? If not, why not? :grin01:

I believe this has been done, I've seen them for sale but don't have any links. You may try a search on Fauna.

I've never heard of anyone doing it. I'm not planning on doing it; I've got enough corn and MBKxMBK plans already. I'd be curious to see the result, but I don't think it would make for conventionally pretty offspring. :shrugs:

I might be wrong...but I think Trevor (LeftyMussolini) has something like that. I don't know the exact cross...but I vaguely remember a MBK x with something...and them being awfully pretty. I'll wait for him to chime in here...

I don't think he has MBK x corn hybrids. I know he's got MBK x Thayeri king hybrids. You can see them in this thread:

MBK x Thayeri King

But these might give you some remote idea of what the MBK x corn combo might look like, or at least what the MBK influence might do.

Also try searching corn x nigritus, I think that's how they had them advertised.

THose are sweet! this first two should be called " black headed king"

I love my Nigritus X Thayeri hybrids. They should be breeding next year :)
But sorry, I haven't ever seen a Nigritus X Corn Hybrid... but I bet it's been done.

I was personally thinking of attempting this cross...and I too, am MOST interested if anyone has heard of anyone who has done it, and/or has pictures of the resultant offspring...

Oooh yeaaah! Oops! Well, I knew they were MBK x soooomething that involved some reddishness...hahaahaha. And they're BEAUTIFUL! :)

There have been some for sell in the "other snakes" section on KS. They are 75% corn and 25% MBK.

Hey trevor, why dont you try breeding that male MBKxThayeri with a female jungle or female corn, could be real neat.

Well, I have a pair of MBK X Thayeri, so I was just going to cross them. It looks as if I might get some interesting variation in a clutch from the two of them.

Mesozoic Reptiles does a lot of hybrids. They have a pair of hatchling amel 75% corn 25% mbks for sale. I wonder what they will look like when they're older.

I just checked those out and they are quite interesting... but I'd really like to see the non-amels.
