Meet "Rufus"

That's pretty funny! It's like he's never had anything to eat. "I don't need no stinkin' dinner plate ... I'll just eat off the table!"

"Can I come out and play?"

Ok Rufus, you can come out. But just for a few minutes. I have errands to run and things to do.

Well I almost guessed the date......

So I was expecting Rufus to shed very soon. About 5 days ago I predicted he would shed Thursday or maybe Friday. I woke up this morning and found this in his cage. So it happened sometime during the night. Not sure if it was pre-midnight (Friday) or post-Midnight (Today).

The shed was in 1 piece, unfortunately I tore it in half trying to untangle it from the rocks and vines.

I used to pay careful attention trying to get the sheds out in 1 piece. Now I just reach in and give them a yank. It just doesn't seem important anymore.

Karl ... nice shed! I know what you mean about trying to keep your shed together. (notice I said 'shed') I still try to get it out in one piece, if I can see that it is. More of a contest against myself I suppose. I had also kept every shed of Loopy's until about a month ago when I pitched them all. Why was I keeping them?:shrugs: Anyway, the only one I have at the moment is the one he (successfully in one piece) shed a couple nights ago!

Well done, Rufus!

I know what you mean about it getting more routine. It is still fun when they shed, but I used to put them in separate bags with names and dates! Now I throw them all into one big Ziploc gallon bag that I keep for educational purposes.

I recently gave some to a kid for show and tell after he came to watch me feed Cleo and Clyde. A baggie with a shed in it is a great souvenir (and yes I do warn them to wash their hands after handling the shed).

LOL!!!!

Tell the kid next time you see him/her, to place a shed under the teacher's desk and then sit back and watch the fun.

I never did such a thing to a teacher, but I did do such a thing to my boss.

It was Hilarious to watch a 50+ year old man run around shrieking like a little school girl.

New Suit, and ready to Dine

So after skipping last Sunday's feeding Rufus is quite hungry after his Friday night Shed. Here he is sporting his new colors, and I swear there's a mouse in there somewhere.

I'm sure he's hungry for sure! And you're probably right, there's a mouse in there somewhere. But I'm also guessing there's a snake in there too somewhere ... I'm mean, after you un-coil it.

Shiny shiny shiny

We decided to take a few pictures of Rufus showing off his post shed colors.
