Mesh lid glass tank ventilation?

I don't have any airflow problems currently, but I'm thinking for the future... Say you have a non-locking lid on a glass tank, maybe you don't have clasps and have to use a large weight that covers a lot of the lid... I was thinking maybe a small desk or personal fan mounted above the tank pointed at maybe a 40 degree angle to create an air current through the tank? Has anyone ever tried this? I could see how it could create temperature regulation issues, but if that could be overcome I don't see why it would be problemactic. Thoughts?

Not necessary really. Unless you use an exceptionally moist substrate that requires crazy airflow. But for most common setups, as long as air is able to get into the enclosure, then it's enough. I actually have 4/5 of my screen top covered at all times to help with humidity.

Hmm, I hadn't considered humidity in this equation. That's what I get for brain storming at 2 am lol.

A fan would be disastrous on an open-topped tank in my house. I like screen tops fine, but you probably won't need to increase air flow even more. Locations, ambient room humidty, and so forth will change this equation, though.

Wow, disastrous? How so?

Disastrous because fans increase air flow which lowers the humidity. Snakes need some humidity, not breezes, and with a mesh lid the normal air flow is not a problem factor at all.
