Yes, the ground colour is good, but the saddles need to be more solid black with no frosting just grey and black! And then imagine that in a motley.

I think they would look very candy cane like.
Then stop thinking.:fullauto: Start re-searching. :bang::bang:
Does anyone else see humor in these two posts coming from the same person in the same thread? LOL.
Almost as funny as trying to get people to pay 1200.00 for the latest hybrid!!
Oops,... I mean cornsnake gene!
Tessera Cornsnakes - The newest cornsnake gene
We are finally beginning to take deposits on our CB09 Tessera cornsnakes. This is the first year that we will be offering any for sale, and the listed price is for Tesseras assuming we do not prove that there is a super form.
Males - $1200/each
Females - $1000/each
KJun You always get touchy when people mention breeding Kisatchie's why is that?

Was it that or just your plain rudeness that got me touchy in this thread?
A bit of jealousy?
I think so. When you discover/help discover a new gene, I am sure that you will value it accordingly.
Anyone want to take bets on how many years it will be before abell82 has a chance to buy a tessera?
Well since I don't DO stripes, and would likely NEVER pay that much for a hybrid... Probably a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG TIME!!![]()
ONLY he didn't do much more then to BUY into the "new morph" which he then named, and is trying to resell. OR am I missing something?

Pardon me SUSPECTED hybrid.![]()
Any proof what so ever? Or any information that you can share that would lead anyone to believe that these are not pure corns?
Why is it a "suspected" hybrid?
It is not a stripe.
You know, back when stripes first hit the market, "all" of the corn purists just "knew" that they were hybrids with one of the ratsnakes (obsoleta). Same logic I guess.
Perhaps one would question them, but when you look at the images that Don has posted of his clutches from last year, none, none of the "normals" have any markers or indicators that they are hybrids.
Don S. said:Keep in mind that our evidence at this time is from three pairings only, so further breeding trials are necessary to more accurately describe this mutation, and its mode of inheritance. Other than appearance, all physiology is classically cornsnake, though the pattern complex resembles that of other species (including pattern mutations in other species). Arguably, no obvious (or cryptic) hybrid markers have been observed.

What remains is just enough atypicality to make the products novelly marketable. In our hobby, the danger is infusing those into heretofore pure cornsnake lines, thereby permanently polluting their genome. Once those genes are introduced, they’re always there. Eventually, they can be diluted to nearly invisible levels, but they cannot be expunged.
You say it's not a stripe.
Then you compare them to a stripe.
You mention Don from south Mountain. Don says this, on his web page...

In a post on King snake he says this...

Enough is enough. If you would like to discuss it further you can PM me
Sorry, your mistaken, you mam were the first to compare them to a stripe, I was merely following your lead and using your example.
Thanks for finding that for me, "they (meaning hybrid markers) cannot be expunged." If you need the definition of expunged let me know.
What's wrong? do not want to be proven wrong in a public forum?oke:
So please pray tell, what are tesseras a hybrid with? What other egg-laying colubrid has a gene that is inherited in the same way as and looks similar to a tessera cornsnake?
Ms. abell 82 please educate the "uninformed", what markers are present? What is a tessera a hybrid with? Why were they even brought up to begin with?
So I'm a woman? No shame in that last time I checked. You are the one defending your boy friends's honor though. If you want to continue feel free to PM me.

Sorry, I thought you were a woman (abell sounds feminine, if I'm wrong, sorry :shrugs: ). Now, back to the actual discussion. Any chance you plan to answer a question? Perhaps you could answer with out an insult added? (is that possible? :shrugs: )
Not to jump into the dirt with you guys or anything but this one needed a comment...
To me: "Abell" sounds like "Abel"... as in "Cain & Abel"... and I'm pretty sure Abel was a man :awcrap:. I dunno, maybe if it was "Maybell" or something... I just don't see anything feminine about this name at all... Once again, my intention is not to hop into this with you and while I personally believe that the Tessera is NOT a hybrid, I am remaining neutral on the topic until I know more.
