I was wondering what is best to feed cornsnakes mice or rats. which has the best nutation for them.

Rats can fatten your corn snake up quickly. Mice are generally more appropriate for corns and will provide the nutrition they need without risking some serious weight gain.

Rats are better caus ethey have large bone structure which means more calicum. but you need to make sure that you noy feeding to big of a rat to a corn. Larger corns can take a weaned rat withou issues abouth the same size as adult mouse.

I have noticed in raising baby corns as soon as I can switch from a mouse pinkie to a rat pinkie the cornsnake really starts to grow. They really start getting some length as well as girth. But once on rat pinkies I only feed once a week to avoid obecity.

I give her one weaner rat every seven to eight days . she likes rats much more than mice. The reason I started to give her rats was because she was not so ready to eat as she was , so I decided to give her the rats . Glad I did .

Rats aren't necisarily better... some snakes like rats better but they are a lot fattier. If you feed too many of them your snake gan become overweight and this can shorten their life spans. I would suggest feeding mice, but you could substitute one rat every month or two... just make sure to monitor their weight. Rats are also usually more expensive, but it depends on what size your snake is eating too. Remember, the fast your snake grows, the shorter their life span will be.

Where are you getting your snake from? You also want to consider what they were previously eating as they may not accept a new food type, or may not ever want to go back onto mice once introduced to rats.

IMHO mice are better :) and cornsnakes get all the calium they need from eating mice
