Mingo: Opal Stripe, Outside!!

My goal: get a nice photo with Mingo next to a pretty flower, with her head in focus. Mingo's goal: stay coiled as tightly as possible, preferrably in a knot, around my fingers while reacting to the touch of a flower on her skin as if I was trying to dip her in molten lava...

Mingo is a 2009 Serpenco opal stripe. I feel very lucky to have her- Rich only had one!!! She is very sweet, and a good feeder.

It's 90F outside, too hot for baby snakes. Better luck next time!

Thanks for looking!

You always take such beautiful pictures, even with uncooperative snakes!
Mingo is beautiful as well =)

Thank you! That's the best I could do, out of about 50 pics. More than half had her head chopped off...I never actually got to focus on her even once- I just had to push the button and hope for the best.

wow you are patient to take 50 shots! What kind of camera do you use?
I get impatient after about 5 fails.. haha.. =) But I don't have any neat flowers and stuff to work with either. Is that all in your backyard?

I have a point and shoot Casio Exilim. I love it. I generally shoot snakes on a macro setting with rapid exposures so I can shoot three in a row by holding the button down. This lets me capture tongue flicks more easily! It's a 10mp camera. There's definitely a difference in quality, though, between my pictures and say Katie's or Robbie's or Elle's. It's just a point and shoot, after all.

Ooh she's so pretty!!! :D

I've been meaning to ask you which camera you use, Emma and Lenny need a new one, so thank you for posting that info :)

It's my third Exilim (I keep upgrading every couple years, although there really is no need to!) Elle shot with one for quite a while.
