Hi, I am newbie to this forum and I would like an advice.
6 days ago I bought 2 baby corn snakes from Petco. I choose them from a cage where there were 6 of them at least.
I also bought a cage, a hiding cave, heat and all that stuff that a beginner needs (from what they told me).
Today 6 days after, I noticed that both of my snakes have lots of small black creatures on them. Are they mites? The are over the shells and between them. I have never put my hands on them without to wash them first, beside that I only had them in my hand 3-4 times so I could avoid any stress. I was changing the water every 2 days. I don't know if I bought them with that creatures on them for sure, but I cannot imagine how they have that on them. I have feed them only once.
I would like your advice. They are only 12 inches long each, can you tell me what to do? Do we have any pics of mites? Do I need any treatment? I don't know what to do because they are so small
I pressed one creature between my nails and it "pop" leaving lots of blood.
Tomorrow morning I will go to Petco to see if there are mites on that cage. But what should I do? I don't want to return the snakes to that environment.
Tomorrow should be the feeding day. Should i feed them??
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
manos
