Moderator Campaign "Speech"

RobbiesCornField

Bring it on.
My fellow Cornsnakes.com-ians,
I would like to begin my campaign for your votes for the open moderator position. While I'm not going to make any obscene promises like free funnel cakes, free snakes, etc. (except for in jest), I will make, and uphold, these promises if elected.

I promise to moderate with a fair fist. In order to fulfill this promise, I have to eliminate any preconceived notions I have of a few members, and view all members with an unbiased eye. This is a something I feel that I am more than capable of doing.

I would also like to promise to help relieve some of the workload of the current moderators, and not inadvertently create more work for them by having them overturn bad decisions. To do this, I will have to take into mind the debates/arguments on the site so far and keep in my head "What Would Susan/Dean/Jeff Do?". I think the three of them have been doing a wonderful job of keeping the trolls and arguments in line on the site, and I would have three excellent role models and mentors available as an exemplary guideline.

My final promise would be to make our current moderators proud. I believe I can live up to their expectations by fulfilling my first two promises. I know I can live up to the prestigious position the current moderators have created.

In short, I know I can be an asset to the team not only because of the amount of time I am able to spend on here, but in that I can moderate with an unbiased eye to help relieve the current moderator workload.

Thank you, everyone, for your time and consideration.

:wavey:Mr. Cornfield, Mr. Cornfield, :wavey: I have a question sir. You said that you have preconceived notions about a few members, could you provide us with a list of those names?

In the efforts of being fair, I don't want to call out any names. Although I'm sure I don't need to tell these people who they are, as I'm sure everyone knows where they stand with me. I've never been shy about my true feelings of anyone, and have been accused of being "brutally honest".

Go Robbie! :D You've got my vote. I like Tim would like my Funnel Cake and snake. Can I request the morph? ;) I think I'd rather like a Tessera or one of your Subocs. LOL

Mr. Cornfield, :wavey: , sir in an earlier statement you were quoted as saying that Wade drives you bonkers. Is bonker driving grounds in you opinion to conceive preconceived notions about a person?

Driving to the point of bonkers is not grounds to conceive the possibility of a preconceived notion. Sometimes, it can be good for a person to go stark raving bonkers. It cleanses their system, and gets a lot of pent up aggression out. Essential for a moderator, in my opinion, is a level head without a lot of built up anger.

Mr. Cornfield, :wavey: So do I understand from your statement that you have a problem with anger and feel a need to be driven bonkers from time to time? Do you think this may be a problem for you as a moderator if you bonker driver was not available at a time when you needed him?

Given the fact that I'm sure there will always be someone to drive me bonkers sitting on the couch next to me (and he does so at rather frequent intervals), I very highly doubt there will be any anger issues.

Well, are you coming to the Daytona show? :) *conveniently not seeing specific morphs/snakes*

Wade your such a PITA I love you man,lol

I think that's the reason we all love Wade. :D Every site needs a bit of comedic relief!

Oh Sir :wavey: Mr Cornfield, :wavey: Sir one more question sir, :wavey: Could you tell us how Tony feels about being First …..Husband? Is he prepared to take on the duties that would be required of that office?

He's rather enthusiastic, because he knows it means I'll leave him alone a bit more often due to my duties of being a moderator. He enjoys his alone time because it means he doesn't have to listen to me talk snake. I think he's rather excited for the potential change!

:waves: Mr. cornfield,
What will you about the spam issue. Am I on the list of preconcieved notions? And finally would you be ready to do a live debate?

There's a spam issue? Our current moderators do an excellent job of taking care of the spam issue. I must say that I do believe with all of the time I spend on the site, I'll be able to attend to the spam at times the other moderators (with real jobs) would not otherwise be able to.

As I said previously, a list of preconceived notions will not be released. Nor will hints.
