moist hide question

I recently bought a moist hide for my little corn ,as his first shed since we had him didnt go well. he shed in bits and pieces and needed help with a wet towel to finish.anyway he loves his new hide but the moss in it keeps going moldy. what are people using in their moist hides or how do you keep the mold from growing?also any other suggestions on increasing the humidity in the tank? I live in saskatchewan canada and it is very dry here the tanks humidity levels hovers between 28 and32.

I use plain old papertowels in my humid hides. Easier to clean up, and they don't stink like sphagnum moss. Every couple days, I throw out the old and put in new.

To keep humidity levels up, I use a regular hand towel and cover 85% of the screen top with the towel after misting. During a shed, I can keep my humidity between 70 and 85% this way, and the snakes don't even really the humid hides.

maybe try using a moist hide just during the shed period. I've not had any bad sheds with any of my babies, but think that may be the answer. No need for a moist hide 24/7 if your amient humidity is around 50. If it is below that i'd just mist the cage every few days and keep the moist hide for shed only.

I keep the hide in the Viv all the time, but only put moist moss in there when my snake is going to shed. Once he has shed i remove the damp moss and put dry moss in instead.

To increase humidity you could get a larger water bowl and/or place it over where the UTH is.
