More Bad Publicity

There own silly fault, snakes should not be handled in shows, people around them just causes stress, : ( There is somone who lives not far from my town who charges people to hold his snake, and he stands right near a road, now that is just thoughtless.

Jazz,
Whoops, i mean George. :D

Hmmm..... big python + lots of people trying to get it off of the man... = lots more grip? Man i hate stupid people :grin01:

If she was at a show educating the public about snakes and that as it seems in the article, I wonder if she had handled any rodents or rabbits earlier & the Burmese hadn't eaten in awhile, sparking the responce it gave when she went to get it out of its enclosure. :shrugs:

Pity these things happen, its a risk of the hobby I suppose, but to happen at a public "show" type situation unfortunately surely turned many people off of snakes as pets. :nope:

An officer deployed his Taser on the snake. After a few seconds, Chloe released her grasp and allowed Cobianchi to get free. The Python then retreated to her cage. The victim was treated by paramedics and taken to Helen Ellis Hospital for treatment.

How Silly, Why not try and instead of panicing, handle it gentel and try to slowly remove it instead of shocking the snake, that police man should be charged with assault against a animal.

Isn't that snake too big for one person to handle, alone, anyway?

Well, the taser isn't going to hurt the snake any more than it hurts a person, but there _have_ been several human deaths from tasers in the last year.

Police who use a taser (and pepper spray) have to be re-certified in it annually- which means they have to get tased and sprayed. They definitely are familiar with what it feels like.

Because
1. That wouldn't work and
2. She would be dead

As Nanci said the taser wouldn't kill the snake just shock it for a few seconds. I actually think that is a good way to get a large snake from squeezing you to death.

This really shouldn't have happened it could have all been prevented.

Yea i suppose, i think for shows to get people used to snakes they should eather use hatchlings or corns, neather can do serious damage really..

"They say the beast, named Chloe, attacked 18-year-old Alison Cobianchi of Holiday during a show."

The beast, lol, what a stupid way to put it. And like nanci said, one person should not have been handleing it alone. The snake must have weighed a least, well this is a guess but 60-90 pounds. Does that sound right? I dont have any burns.

Remember, the last one had a pal, but all he did was dial 911 on his cell... So I guess you need a pal who knows what to do... :D

"Hang in there... I'm trying to send a text message... Do you know how long it takes to type Burmese Python on a cell phone?" :grin01:
