More chain pet store horror

Did he say anything about soaking the snake? Did he even have a thermometer in the tank? Something tells me the snakes not eating because of environmental factors in the store, but came to them dehydrated. Why in gods name would they be selling a snake that is currently having to be force fed? That animal needs to go to a vet, not be sold to some unknowing customer!

i would have asked if i could hold it, then refused to give it back until it was either sold to me REAL cheap of given water and food.....

then reported them...

its a disgrace, if that was in someones house that person would be banned for life of owning ANY animal.

No. But he did seem genuinely distressed about the subject so im kind of torn on what to do here...

i'm not sure if that's previous shed, that looks like absolutely SEVERE dehydration to me. if the rest of the snakes didn't look like that, they soon will. i wouldn't even speak to the manager of that particular store, if it is a chain i would speak to the CEO of the company, and tell them you have posted this here alerting people to the matter, and i can tell you, they WILL do something about it right quick.

I'm not saying its only retained sheds. I know its severe dehydration, but a snake cant shed completley, or without any troube, in that condition. I'm pretty sure there must be at least one shed still stuck on his skin. To me it looks like there are sheds stuck on there (Where the picture cuts off, tward the tail)

I have thought about trying to buy him at a low price but im afraid I'm still a novice and he seems pretty far beyond my expertise to risk taking

3 words: Animal Control. PETA.

Say it to the manager's face. If the first words don't get his attention, PETA would undoubtedly terrify him.

Or terrorize him....

Either way, that snake needs care ASAP!

The snake definitely needs care. But I wouldn't threaten to sick PETA on them. Remember, PETA isn't our friend here. They don't believe that snakes should be kept as pets, period, and this would only give them fuel to their fire. I'm not sure what to do, but the OP mentioned that he talked to the manager, and the manager acted concerned. But, again, PETA is not our friend.
