Motley/Motley Stripe/Striped

My Motleys throw motley stripe ocassionally. Is the striped corn a well defined Motley Stripe? Chris

No, Stripe and Motley are two separate genes.
Motleys can have a variety of appearances ... from what is commonly known (circles, ovals), to the Striped form, to Q-tipping, etc. (but, again, does not stem from the same gene that produces Stripes).

Also, the motley and stripe genes are allelles, meaning they are located at the same locus. If you bred a motley and a stripe together, the offspring will have 1 of each gene. But since the motley pattern is dominant to the stripe pattern, the snake will look like a motley. Breed that snake back to a snake het or homozygous stripe and you recover fully striped offspring as well as motleys.
