Murphy's Law VS Lady Luck with clutches

Susan

Go Ahead, Make My Day!
I have a battle going on this year with my snakes. Some examples:

1. One female didn't ovulate when bred, but retained sperm for 1 fertile egg in a second clutch. (Lady Luck)
2. Running about 50:50 good size clutches of fertile eggs:small clutches with only a few fertile eggs (Murphy's Law)
3. One female laid a nice clutch, wasn't bred a second time, but retained sperm for a second nice clutch ! (Lady Luck)
4. Two small clutches went totally bad. (Murphy's Law)
5. First clutch laid was due to hatch between 5/27 and 6/3. Still no slits, but the eggs still look okay. (Toss up)
6. Four clutches have hatched so far. (Lady Luck)
7. One of these is from the female mentioned in #3, my caramel het butter bred to my butter. The hatchlings are 0.1 caramel het butter and 4.3 butter ! (Lady Luck)
8. Last "clutch" to hatch is from my aneryth stripe het snow bred to my amel stripe (het status at breeding was unknown). Only 1 egg survived (Murphy's Law), but hatched out a snow stripe ! (Lady Luck) However, the hatchling is small, has a small umbilical hernia, a spinal kink, and probably won't survive. (Murphy's Law)

And I still have 13 (lucky or unlucky # ?) clutches to go.

And THEN, I have to deal with "will it eat or not"!

hmmm...

i never thought of striped snow..sound sinteresting.. could u get a picture of it? id love to see it.. sorry to hear bout the kink.. i never saw one.. could u send a pic of that to please?

Wish I could post a pic for you but I've got a few problems...
1. My digital camera stinks (El Cheapo I got for free)
2. Even if, by chance, it took a decent pic, my kids totally destroyed the cable to attach it to my computer
3. My only current pic source is my 35mm developed onto a Kodak CD. It takes great pics, although the zoom isn't strong enough to take good pics of tiny hatchlings. And my lighting and flash doesn't seem to take good pics of snows. Besides, the last thing I want to do at this time is stress the little thing out. Should she survive and get bigger, I'll definately take a pic and post it in the Photo Gallery. And spinal kinks are more noticably felt than seen, unless they are really severe. I kept a few that had some from last year, and the kinks are barely even felt now.
In the meantime, I know others have snow stripes. Make a request for a pic in the Photo Gallery.

thank you

thanks anyway.. i will do what u said and look for a striped snow... would u by any chance be selling any hatchlings this year?

I'll be selling all of my hatchlings to Mike at MotherGecko wholesale this year, so they'll be available through him. His website is located at www.MotherGecko.com. I doubt I'll have any more snow stripe hatch out this year (that pair only bred once and only the one egg was good). But who knows what Lady Luck has in store for me in the 13 clutches that are still incubating!
