my breeders...
I've never really introduced these guys but this is my female Snow Corn (Delilah) and my Male Albino corn (Ginger-Al). Delilah is a big girl, 4ft 11inches and she weighs in at 873Grams. Ginger-Al is a smaller boy only about 4.5 feet and only weighs in at about 350Grams. I'm looking forward to breeding these two next year.

thanks, I'm hoping for a lot of eggs as well.

and before it comes up, no she has never been power fed, she's just a big girl.

She is a big beautiful girl :) I cant say much about her weight.. I have one that weighs almost 1000 grams  But I do have a question :) Are there any dangers to breeding a girl who is so robust?? :D

Actually, I really am not sure about that. The owner of the pet store that I work at said that she should hold up just fine. He breeds Boas though, and various other things. I'm wondering if there are any concerns I should have with her being that size, I'd think it's be helpful to have her be that big.

As far as Ginger-Al being small, yes he's not the biggest, but he is healthy and I am currently starting to feed more than usual to get ready for brumation. I'll be sure to keep an eye on him though thanks.

Gorgeous snakes!! :D

I'm going to have to echo what Brizzle said... Ginger does look on the thin side. You can see the spine, as well. And for a 4.5 foot corn, he should be MUCH heavier than 350g. What size of mice is he currently on?

I'm really glad this has been brought to my attention this early, he's actually been on adult mice, they're obviously not very big though so maybe i could feed him twice a week or what do you think? I definitely need to get him up before brumation time

you could try weanling rats... they are bigger than a mouse, still a single prey item but with rats, they seem to put on weight faster.. just an idea :) or maybe along with the adult mouse also a hopper or second small adult?? Just some ideas... maybe someone else will have more or better ideas for you :)

thanks for the suggestions, I actually went and got a weanling rat so i'm going to try that in a, little bit. If that doesn't work I'll try two mice. Thanks!

Ginger is definitely too thin and needs to be bulked up. The weanling rats on a weekly basis should do it by the time brumation season comes around. And as for Delilah, she may actually be over-weight. You can tell by the slight "love-handles" by her vent. Make sure she gets plenty of exercise over the next couple of months and you may just want to put her on a maintenance diet until brumation time, say a mouse every 10-14 days instead of weekly. Over-weight females have a much greater chance of becoming egg-bound.

Yeah I fed delilah today, but i didn't really think there was much signs of her being over-weight. I will wait until about 14 days to feed her again though, thanks.
I think i still have plenty of time before brumation to make sure they are both just fine.

Ok well...as you may have read in previous posts my problems here are a possible over weight female, and a definite under weight male. Today I fed them both, before learning that delilah may be over weight. I then went down to the pet shop I work at (I'm full time military, part time pet shop employee, then again employee might insinuate that i get paid...i don't :) and picked up some more Frozen adult mice, and these were Large Adult mice, pretty much the same size as our rat weanlings. Anyhoot, I came home and fed Ginger-al again and he was very happy to eat again.

You think i should feed two each week? or should I feed one every 4 days or so? One of the owners advised feeding every 4 days, that's why I ask, but nutritionally is there a difference in just feeding 2 every week?
