Guys I'm doing everything possible to leave him alone but I can't take it so I take a red light and see him in his hide, that's not good?
 
just give him time to get used to his surroundings. Trust me even after having many snakes its still hard not to want to constantly check on a new arrival!
 
Yes! He's settling in- leave him ALONE!!!!! Everyone will be better off in the long run. I went one year without seeing Inez, except when I rousted her out for feeding.

Nice king snake Bataco, resist the temptation. Iv just brought a new water dragon and just want to pick him up but i know i cant.
 
You are going to stress this snake, by taking more pictures, taking the lid off and on. As Nanci said many of us have snakes we rarley see. I have a female 06' ghost motley, I only see when I take her out to eat. My 07's have been handled very little and just more lately. Snakes stop eating for a few reasons, but one major reason is stress. good luck, susang
 
One more thing they hide because they are scared, their senses tell them keep out of danger hide, so that is what they do 90% of the day.
