The Rule Of Thirds.
This is Sangre, my latest addition that I picked up at the Tinley Park expo. He's from Louise at Bayou Reptiles, and (she claims) is from the "pied-sided" line; time will tell.

He's shed twice since I've gotten him, and against type for a bloodred, he's an absolute pig. He should be - given the food in/crap out lead time, he apparently has the metabolism of a hummingbird. ;)

Great pickup Jazz!!

Sounds a lot like mine as far as the metabolism goes---the thing eats a rat pink and then craps it out 2 days later.
 
Mama mia with meatballs! Beautiful snake. I see the pied effect on the neck. I had to blow up the pics to make sure that cool gray head pattern wasn't a camera artifact. Looks like the real deal. I saw these on the Bayou availability sheet a few days ago. They were less expensive than I expected, but wallet-breakers nonetheless. Great purchase. :)
 
That sure is a nice find!!!

My new pewter is a piggie too, and Kathy says the hypo blood I'm getting from her is a great eater too! I'm so glad, previously I'd been worried about the bloods being finicky, I'm glad that's becoming less of a problem. And I'm really glad that it doesn't seem to be a problem with the pied-sided ones. I'd love to get my hands on one or two or three someday!!!

Congrats, Jazz!!! That is an awesome baby, I hope he makes lots more nice babies for you in the future.

As for the "pied-sided"....I doubt if he'll show any white on the sides, but hey, if he's het (I'm not even sure that "pied-sided" is recessive), that's fine by me. What drew me to him was the head pattern and the relatively dark coloration - I prefer a deep "ruby" in bloods as opposed to a screaming bright, almost hypo, red.

In time, he'll be paired up with a normal het pewter, and a charcoal het bloodred pair of females that I'm picking up from Michelle (DevilzNight) in a couple of weeks. If he's studly enough, I'll probably use him as the foundation of my diffused lav project, too.

Heyyyy......"pied sided diffused lavs" has a nice ring to it, don'cha think? :)
