My first snake cage set-up: Opinions needed!

Hi everyone! Ok, I've got my very first snake home all set up: here's a photo. I'm getting very excited--as soon as I get my order of mice from Rodent Pro--hopefully by the end of this week--I can get my corn snake! I was wondering what everyone thought of my setup. I've had it set up for a week to see how the heat works--so far the Herpstat ND is keeping the warm side right at 85. The cool side--unheated--varies from 64 to 68--depending on the room temperature. I do have a fluorescent light over the cage just so I can see my corn, as the room the cage is in tends to be dark, but I'm only going to keep the light on for a few hours a day. Is there anything I'm missing? I'd love to hear what you guys think!

You might want to fill the hides up with something- aspen, crumpled paper. Snakes like tight hides. And you should let the snake settle in for a week before feeding, so no need to wait for mice to arrive!

I only see a couple of problems.

1. The wall paper of corn cobs is to corny.

2. Toilet paper roll has got to go because you are coping me.

3. No water in the water dish.

Looks nice but I would follow Nanci's advice about the hides.

Thanks, everyone! The background I made out of photos of Indian corn I Googled and then saved and printed out. I taped a few together to fit the length of the cage, than had Staples laminate the whole thing--it only cost $2.00. It came out pretty good. I'm thinking of maybe doing different seasonal ones for the four seasons.

I forgot--the reason I haven't filled the water dish is because I haven't gotten my snake yet and I just wanted to see how it fit in the cage--and I'll take out the T.P. roll--LOL!!

Snakes love TP rolls and paper towel rolls. You can squish it into a triangle for babies, And stuff some aspen in.
