so i have wanted a snake pretty much since i was 5 or so, im now 23. my mom wouldn't have it, finally got my own now, its a baby male snow corn snake. i was supposed to get a 8 year old 5 ft Miami phase from a friend but when he went to get him to give to me he was no ware to be found, that was a month ago so sadly with it getting down to 25 degrees at night and 55-60 in the day hes probly gone, couldn't be found any ware inside the house so kinda sad about that.

so i got him last night from pets to go in elk grove, hes currently in a 45 gallon tank so he has a lot of room im thinking he might like something smaller till he gets bigger, but i gt thin perpetration for the 5ft corm.

i named him lennard because im sure he would have been an outcast if he was in the wild, so if someone named their kid lennard he probably would get picked on at school, and i like the name and wouldn't name my kid it haha.

hes movin about in the tank alot but now hes in the corner behind the warter dish

What a lovely little Snow! I like the name, too. Sorry to hear about the Miami. I own own myself and find them to be among the most beautiful corns out there. :} And word to the wise, I started out with one corn after many years of not being able to own snakes, and now have five! They're very, very addicting! xD

Also, welcome to the forum! This is a great place to be! :}

i want to get a rainbow boa for me next one im going to build myself an enclosure that fits under my window, 4ft wide, 18 deep, 3ft 9inches tall, going to make it so it will house two, lennard and the boa when i get one

Do you mean an enclosure that will have your corn and boa in it? As in...co-habbing? I really, really hope you aren't serious.

Oh, okay! Great! That had me worried there for a second, as they have almost completely different housing requirements! Wheeeew! I hope to have a Brazilian Rainbow Boa someday, but only until I'm settled permanently. It'd be hard to constantly move a 55+ gallon aquarium around! xD

man dat sucks when you lose a snake,my corn snake escaped as well barely to day 2. I dont think he is going to survive since its raining like hell, but any way nice snow corn its a looker.

well i just fed him for the first time in his feeding container, let him stay in there till he had the lump about half way down him before i moved him back in to his tank, he was chillin on the log in the middle and i was lookin at him, he was following every ware i moved, and then he struck at the glass and fell off the log, think it may be him showing he might be aggressive, or is it cause he just ate

He probably was still in his "feeding response" mode. Even after eating a big meal, some snakes still have a strong response. Happens all the time to about 75% of my snakes. :D

alright thats what my friend who had the corn that got away said to, he wiggled under the news paper real fast after that, im waiting to go to a better substrate till he isnt so small so i can fine him rather than digging around for him to feed him.

side note i cant wait for him to get bigger and not having to search for a white snake on news paper to make sure hes still inside, but i have 4 lid locks on a 45 gallon tank so i hope its good enough to keep him in so far 24 hr and he hasnt found a way out.

i was hesitant to feed him so soon after bringing him home but every time i looked in he was popoing up and kinda looking around, and when i picked him up it was feeding day so owell he ate really well once he saw the pinky it took about 4 seconds for him to strike

Yeah probably just nervous about his new surroundings and stuff. Just leave him alone for a few days to adjust and he should be fine. My babies never get aggressive, not even when they are hungry. Charlie does like to strike and coil around his F/T pinkies. Once he is settled in keep working with him and handle him regularly so he isn't so spazzy and high strung. You making an excellent new herper! :)

he has handled very well once i got him out of the cage he fell of my arm on to me leg once, but if i put a hand in front of him he is very calm about going to it, he seems like he will make a great pet once he gets used to his surroundings and has some training on getting used to it,

last night when i got home from work i figured i would see how he did i ssrt my hand in the cage he slithered right on.

i love finaly having a snake but i cant wait for the next, i think this may be more addicting than tattoos which i got my first about 3 months ago and have my next two planned already

Your snow is sweet! I too just purchased a snow about a month ago I guess. They are so cute.

Haha! I'm the exact same way. Soon as I moved out of my parents house I now have 5 new piercings, 2 new tats, and 2 snakes (which I wasn't allowed to have before). They are INCREDIBLY addicting! Pretty soon I will have sleeves and my living room converted to a reptile room >.<

yup but my mom actualy drove me for my first tat, cause it was 40 min away in traffic didnt feel like driving cause i did it all in one sitting on my leg, i have the other side and the back planned already too

My tat.

It's the same as my avatar, but here's a really really crappy pic of it. It's on the inside of my forearm just under my elbow. Pulled my hoodie sleeve up just now to take a pic. It looks WAY better in person.
