MY MOUSE HAD BABIES!! (Pics)

Not going to get into the ethical debate... Freezer bait for pinkies or feed them off.. *shrugs*

Regards.. Tim of T and J

Not sure what you meant by "freezer bait" but ya...the day she had them was feeding day, so that was the last day that Crush got a live one...then they went in small ziplock bags and got frozen.

Like you said above...I don't want to get into a battle of ethics...this is what I do. I feed them off regardless, so if it makes me a bad person for causing an "inhumane" death to pinkies...then so be it.

I grew up on a farm, and I guess I thought I was immune.
I had no problems with mice, I was never overrun, I always had enough.
But they first time I raised rats (I used pet store rats as breeders.), I had problems. They were too smart, too friendly, too nice. ( Through selective breeding.)
I admit, I was overrun. (Also, I have nothing that would eat full sized rats.)
Now I have exactly what I need and no more.
I think I would have problems feeding an adult rat to a snake. (But I have plenty in the freezer.)
Babies get gassed with no problems.

Just curious...but how tiny is your BP that it is only eating hoppers? Even my wee baby bp in the past ate adult mice and they are all now on small rats. Just curious....but be a tiny baby! :)

My plans are to get 5 out when they look about 3 grams, to freeze for Crush, my Amel. Corn.
Let the rest grow to hoppers which is what my BP is on...at that point I will take a male/female pair out to keep and breed, and freeze the rest as hoppers for my BP.
