My new favourite snake!

Tula_Montage

It's Jager time!
I just adore this boy... He's a 2 year old Bolivian short tail boa (Boa constrictor amarali)

It's great to know my OH is intimidated by him, as hes been keeping all sorts of species of snake far longer than me :p I just think hes the prettiest boa I have ever kept. I'm lookin forward to the arrival of more boas this month, but I still think hes gonnae be the favourite!

Heres Brutus settled in and had a few feeds. This guys feeding response is intense :grin01:

Can't get better colour than that!

While you know that I can't condone a non-colubrid being your favorite, I can't deny this guy's appeal. ;) I really like his ventral, and the speckled craziness on the sides of his tail. His overall look is very pleasing.

Thanks Dean!

I have to say, sometimes corns are just no comparison to a beautiful big boid! Then again I stare at my phantom blood and change my mind LOL

Of course! I tell him hes a hot snake alll he time. My OH frequently tells me to stop kissing the snake instead of him LOL

That is a very nice looking boid. I really like the pinks that he has. Coming to the states? drop him by my place if you like lol

Elle, While I can't deny his beauty, I wouldn't want that face in first pic coming at me :grin01: . susan

Oh hes a sweetheart Susan. He just loves exploring the jungle that is my hair... I kiss him all the time and tell him how much I love him... he just tongue flicks me and tells me to stop drooling :p

Actually what is your count now in Boids?

It sort of changes very often as I constantly buy things, then decide to sell them on and buy something nicer. Right now all I can say is I don't have enough boids!!!! Can't wait till more arrive this month!

OK Elle so he is a beauty, how big is he now and how big will he get? Is your cat in danger, lol. susan

Hes a dwarf locality boa Susan. Being 2 years old and about a meter long (900 grams) I dont expect him to exceed 4ft. You have to take it very slow with Bolivians as they are prone to obesity. Hes always going to be able to stay in my rack system LOL

IMO true dwarf boas are the future.

And here I thought you finally broke down and got a green tree python.....I'm so dissapointed...but he is beautiful!

Oh not yet Meg. The OH is more keen on an emerald instead of a chondro. I dunno... both are just fantastic to look at!

Nah, Emeralds are boring....never different. Red, then green. No difference in shades of green, markings, yellow blue....nothing....And then there's that big nose!!! Chondros are the way to go sister!!

Naw! Can't beat a BIG beautiful basin/northern staring at you with that evil dog head! I do agree though, chondros are much more elegant variable snakes. I want a chondro... and I WILL get one.

:devil01: Let's go boa shopping Elle!!! You and I and a pocket full of money and any snake we want... :crazy02:

"Brutus" is a handsome boy for sure!! Can't wait to see him grow and your new additions that you have coming this month too. Now I will have to get one too...just kidding!

Loves,
PJ

Wow. He's gorgeous. I love boas. I've always wanted on, but not until I have my own place. I love his pinks and the crazy speckles he's got going on!
