I am a bit late on posting this but figured since he's 4 weeks today that its a good time.. Lucien Was born on Dec 21st, 2010 at 3:15pm... He was 8lbs 1oz and 20 inches long... I am so happy to have him and to have been able to experience pregnancy and childbirth one last time :)

Congratulations! That baby feet shot is cute. :) It's also funny how he likes to wrap his second toe up over his third. Good name, too.

They're there. I cannot actually get my second toe on top of my third voluntarily like he can, and I bet not many people can. I'll forward the pic to my wife the anatomist and see what she has to say. There's all kinds of variation in the independent control of digits, especially in rays 2-5. It often has to do with the branching of the tendons (or not) as I understand.
 
My boys still sleep with their eyes open, its a little creepy. They are so cute all fresh and new, bright sparkling eyes, questing fingers...Watch your glasses, our youngest made a habit of destroying glasses.
 
He is so cute he makes you go all gooey inside. Our youngest is 15 and I love it but there are times, like looking at his sweet pictures, that I get that baby tug...........so I call up my nieces and love on my nieces and nephews and it passes. I love children but I would never want any more. We are so close to having all 4 raised, it's wonderful.

I love the pic of daddy and babys feet. To cute.
 
He's adorable! I love his baby feet pics. My son use to fall asleep with his eyes open when he was a baby also. It was just plain freaky when he would do that...lol

I was wondering about that, too.

So I checked with the anatomist. She said, "It's not too uncommon to have variations in phalanx extensors. Maybe he has an extra tiny muscle in his leg that controls that toe--maybe his extensor digitorum longus is subdivided."

It will be fun to compare how much voluntary control he has over which toes once he's old enough to understand what you're asking about!

They do grow up so quickly. Sigh...

My son had a toe that completely overlapped another and he has outgrown it. I don't think he could voluntarily put the toe on the other one now. I'll have to ask him! At 12 I think he should be able to understand but ya never know with the pubescent male mind.:sidestep:
