My snake is too big for her cage!!

Sasha has out grown a 40 gallon reptile tank. So now what do I do. All pet stores dont make anything bigger. So where do I get a cage custom made and perferibly not a show case cage. something that she can actually live in. and something that has glass on all sides. she likes to see everything she is 4 feet long now and on that note how much is she suppose to weigh to me she looks skinny. Does anyone have a corn that is 4 feet already. She's two years old now. Im not sure how much she weighs I'll weigh her this evening. But I feed her two adult mice at a time every two weeks is that too much or too little. Sorry for all the questions.

Also, could you post a photo? We would need to see her to tell if she's too skinny. I feed my corns once per week, and some of my adult pythons approximately every 10-14 days.

I have four snakes over four feet. Only my large female is in a forty, the others are in 20L. A 20L is fine for adult corn, if you have a forty you don't need to go bigger, unless you want to.

I'm lost how do you get 10feet total with a 48"x12" isn't that 4 feet or do tanks measure different ?

Also i have my 4ft corn in a 40gl rep tank and is plenty big for it.

Sorry about that! I was talking about a 55-gallon aquarium, which is 4 foot long in the front and back, and 1 foot wide on each side. If the snake stretched around the inside of the tank, it would technically have 10 feet to do so.

I have my trio of adult corns in a 50 gal, which is not much bigger... 48 x12... and they are fine in that, the 40 gal can't be much smaller... My Creamsicle and sunglow males are an easy 5 -5.5 feet a piece.

Thank you all for your help her tank is 36"long 16" high and 18" wide. Where could I get a 50 gallon tank if I wanted to try that one. The reason I think her cage is too small is because she doesnt like being in there. It doesn't seem like she has a whole lot of room to move and she is quit the busy body. lol She is constantly trying to get out of her cage. I let her out everyday for a few hours and she still wants out.

Anyway I weighed her today before I fed her and she weighs 394 grams I am trying to figure out how to post a pic of her now.

That tank looks good. Usually if they're over-active it means they're unhappy with their environment. However, at this time of year males become a lot more active and restless because they feel the need to 'spread their seed' :grin01: But she's a female right?

If she's active I'd suggest getting some vines and/or branches, as well as some plant cover. See how that fares. If it doesn't work and you still want to get a bigger tank, then heck, they'd still go in there fine.

Well...actually creamsicles are amelanistic rootbeers, which are hybrids between corns and Great Plains rats. If it's "just" an amel, it is considered to be a pure corn. But these days, who knows?

Yes she is definetly female and the attitude and nosieness says it all. lol. As far as her being unhappy with her cage I will definetly get some vines and stuff like you suggested. I fed her last night and that finally calmed her down but Im sure as soon as she digest her food she will be back to doing the same so I will add more stuff to her cage.

And no I didnt know I didnt have to say amel creamsicle but I do now. Thank you all for all your help I really appreciate it.
