My snakes have been invited to do a small show...how to get them there?

Hey guys...so as I mentioned earlier, my son has started cub scouts, so we've been brainstorming things to do with our den. I'd suggested doing one of our meetings here so the boys can see the snakes we have. Well, the head scout master heard that and has asked if I could bring them to a pack meeting instead. This means taking them from here to there, and having them in a much larger crowd. I know my corn would be fine, and my baby king as well. Kal, formerly Deano's cali king won't be going. He's not even used to my own kids yet and I don't think the stress would be appreciated, so unless Dean says "go for it", I won't.
Then there's the baby boa who was born on the 8/16. She'll be going, but will not be held by the masses, just observed.

Anyway, my real question is regarding transport. I have plenty of boxes I could use, or should I use tupperware type things? How stressful is it for them to go on a small car ride and then have 50 giant faces looking at them? I know Trixter and a few others do educational shows with their animals, so if anyone could give me tips on the process of this, I'd love to hear it. Thanks!
 
A coooooler...now that hadn't occured to me! Thanks, Nanci! So it's ok if they can smell each other? I wasn't sure how much of an issue that might be. I'll make sure they've been freshly fed several days before transport. ;)
 
I have put them in Sterilites and the sterilites in an
ice chest. keeps them contained and haven't had a problem.
"So Far" .. LOL
I usually just take ones that are the most tolerable of people.
Even if just for display.. It's not good to have one you're showing
to non-snake people bite you even.

I've got cornsnakes living over and under kingsnakes all over my house, and no one has complained yet.
 
Thanks, Gene. Maybe I'll try that. I only have one bag that Kal came in. My pillowcases don't seem to be very "breathable", but I can always run down to goodwill for some as well.

Nanci, I have Kal next to Cornelius and that doesn't seem to be an issue either, but I wasn't sure about having them all right next to each other in a container. If it's not an issue, then I won't worry about it. Thanks again!

Personally, I think your collection is a bit to young to take to a setting like that. I have personally done animal shows for Boy Scouts and Grade Schools and along with Herp Society Events. I never take young animals. Most young snakes are just to flighty any way to use.

oh duh..
When I do a show, I place my snakes in bags. depending on the snake, it goes into a sterilite box in the bag, this protects the snake from any weight. Sames size snakes, some times i just place them in a cooler all in their own bags. But I do not use a cooler during the summer just winter and cooler months.
 
Thanks T. I'll decline then. I had reservations about it, but didn't really know what to say when he asked. I'd much rather stick to my original plan of having just the den over here and they can look at the youngsters in the vivs and hold Cornelius. He's very comfortable being held by all the neighborhood kids at this point anyway.

I'll still read your thread though as I'm always curious. Thanks again for all the help and suggestions, though. I feel better knowing that my gut instinct was right and that this wasn't the best idea.
