My turtles

So I decided to take some pictures of my turtles, I have five in total. Three Eastern Painted Turtles that I hand raised and the two Red Eared Sliders were given to me about two years ago. I had 9 hatch-lings in total hatch, I gave most away and kept one. Here are the pictures :) Enjoy

I miss painted turtles so much! Besides hunting garter snakes and leopard and bullfrogs, I spent my childhood in pursuit of painted turtles. From a rowboat, from the front of a kayak, from a canoe, and by just running into thick weeds from shore and hoping they couldn't get through before I got there. I always let them go- but catching them occupied a great deal of time every weekend at the cabin (in Minnesota). I really can't think of a turtle I like better!

Very cute turtles. I had a lady dig 11 Northern Red Belly Turtles eggs up and she broke 2 then brought them to my work in a cardboard box. I figured they wouldn't hatch but I incubated them anyway and sure enough they hatched. It's really neat seeing the babies hatch out.

Oh they look great! I have an eastern painted, Yurdle. His shell is so messed up due to unknowing previous owners. :C It's slowly starting to look better though.
