Great, sounds like u are alreadyto go

what type of substrate do you put in the humidity hide.

i cant wait to get my first snake

Yaaay, welcome to the hobby! I wonder how long before you buy number two cornsnake!!

Just a little off topic...if that's aquarium gravel that he's on, it might be an idea to change to aspen or reptibark as sand/gravel, etc can be very hard on the belly scales and cause irritation.

He looks like a lovely little snake with a nice home and a caring owner...what more could a snake want!

I welcomed you in the photo gallery lol. Just wanted to let you know 88 is a bit to hot. Also, are you using a stick-on thermometer? They are really inaccurate. I bought an indoor/outdoor thermometer with a hygrometer built in for $15 at walmart. The probe goes on the substraight and I just sit the little unit on the cool side.

im a she :p and im using a digital thermometer of course and i dont usually let it go to 89. its usually at 82. lately thats without a heatpad or bulb :eek1: :p

First of all...welcome to the forums!

Secondly, that looks like a normal...not an anery. It has too much brown color to be an anery, in my opinion. An anery is missing the red pigment, which makes them pretty much a gray and black snake.

hes not a normal thats for shure. the pic there isnt very good. but the woman who sold him to me says shes 100% shure hes not normal. hes not really anery but not normal either. well wait untill hes full grown to see :p

Some of my anery's have a brownish tint to them. It might be the light and the camera over accenting that one's brown, but it definately is an anery.

Have you seen the snake in person? If not, then you cannot say it is definitely an anery. Whenever Camille gets some better pics for us, we can help her to determine what the snake is. By the picture that it posted, it does NOT look like an anery.

Camille,

I'm not saying one way or the other what morph he is but your statement cannot be possible. if he's not really an anery and not really a normal then what morph is he? You can't have a ½ ½. Anery is a simple recessive, not codominant, so either he's an anery or he's a normal.

Well my vote is still in for normal for the time being. I have seen some brownish looking anerys, but NONE like that. Too much red/brown and not enough gray!

The tail part on the left is definately gray and anery. That part is out of the flash which is why I think it might be the flash or something making him look brown. I still think he looks more anery than normal. Any better pics?
