So we just picked this guy up today. young kid had lost interest with him and the parents sold him off. he was quite dirty and so was his cage. now that he's all cleaned up we'd like to figure out what morph he is. my best guess would be snow. he seems to have too much yellow to be blizzard. any ideas guys!? thanks.

Looks like a pretty snow to me. Although in some of the pics the flash makes it look similar to an albino king snake lol which isn't impossible ;)

Looking at the head shape, I actually think it is an albino king, or a hybrid of one.

Albino Kingsnake. If it had a little more yellow I would even classify it as a Banana Cali. Nice snake. I have two of them.

That guy screams Jungle to me.
Agreed. I went back and looked at the pictures again after I saw your post Jynx. The pattern does look a little messed up, even for a King. There is something about the head also. It is too wide to be Corn and too narrow to be King. I concur. Good call Jinx.

My two Cal kings.

I think thats a very nice jungle snow....it has the body of a corn, the head of cali king and the pattern of both mixed 2gether.

this is all very intriguing... here are the only other pics i have of him. sorry they're pretty crappy i'll take some better ones tomorrow once he's rested and used to his new home.

Even my novice eyes screamed hybrid. But oh so pretty. Good find even for a hybrid. I've nothing against hybrids, but I was upset when I didn't know the creamsicle I bought was a hybrid and wasn't labeled as one.

By dirty cage, you mean what exactly? Aspen probably a year old with that much of poo? I'm sad to say that I'm highly interested in how dirty a cage has to be for the snake to get dirty.

yeah the substrate was quite old and soiled... it stunk pretty bad. there was obviously some sort of bark of some sort in there at some point as there was tons of dust from it in the bottom of the tank.

he didn't have a hide... not one. two water dishes and a large piece of driftwood. i'm thinking he looked so dirty because he likely spent most of his time completely buried underneath substrate from the lack of coverage available. all the gaps between his scales especially his head and face were full of dirt and dust. he did have a UTH however he also had a light fixture that was much too large for the size of the tank. it probably heated the whole viv up to 85 degrees.

WOW! Well, at least they watered him! lol
Good thing you took him, someone who understands and can provide what he needs. I bet he will be A LOT happier.

I don't suppose he'd sit still enough and let you detail his scales like a car. At least he's in a better and cleaner place. I don't recall if you had a name for him all ready, but I think I'd name him Pineapple (because I all ready have a Banana). If he were mine anyway.

So the general consensus seems to be that he's a jungle? I have seen a couple albino cali king that look very much like him. but the pattern of his yellow does seems very corn-ish. I've compared him to my corn who is born the same year. He is thicker and longer than she is which i found strange, since he's a male i was expecting him to be smaller, as he has the same diet as my female corn. His snout is definitely much broader than hers is. He is also quite a bit quicker and more flighty.... although i'm sure that varies from snake to snake...
