Awesome! I haven't started my novel yet, not do I have a title, just playing around with some ideas in my head still. Or put it this way - I am a big procrastinator. I promise to post something later though!
 
Well I started this morning, and I'm up to 2044 words. I got an prologue and first chapter done. The first chapter I've had the outline written in my head for a long time now so that was somewhat easy to get written down, just had to fill in the details. The prologue was a spur of the moment thought that just came to me as kind of a way to start and I have an epilogue to go with it that will kind of tie the whole book together and wrap it up nicely, I hope. I'm going to start writing the epilogue today so I can get all the fresh thoughts in my head written down before I forget them. The middle of the book is what I'm most concerned about writing. I have a few post it notes with thoughts and ideas written down. Some I will use, some I won't. The main problem is I had not thought of an idea for a conflict. I thought about it for the past couple days and have a few ideas, we'll see if I can make something work.

I don't have a title, I rarely can think of a good title for a book before I start it. It's usually when I'm half way through it or done with it that I put a title on it.

My genre is, at the moment, a very oversaturated genre...but this is just for my enjoyment so I don't really care.
 
So I'm loving the 'character and plot realism q&a" forum..

but...i noticed it is a slooooowwwww cache.

I wrote a couple books for children in college, and almost failed the project because my book's, "The Barbarian Bunny Adventures", were too violent of a theme for kids, and she couldn't believe how irresponsible I was. A year later, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" came out and was a huge hit. I took my outlines and the TMNT book back to my teacher and told her, "Thanks for discouraging me from pursuing my books that are just like this one!" She didn't know what to say other than, "parents should be ashamed to support such writers, and what a sad state the worlds come to when they find such nonsense entertainment."
Maybe I should rewrite them... :D

Oh, lol, I got sidetracked, here's a word count site.

The vampire genre of course :laugh:

It's hopefully going to be a little darker than 'twilight'...though I haven't read twilight so I can't really compare it. It won't be all lovey dovey hump buddy baby having sparkles though.

I just wrote the epilogue tonight. I'm up way too late...but the thoughts just kept on coming, I couldn't stop. I still haven't quite finished the epi...but I really need sleep so I wrote down what's in my head so I can work on it tomorrow.

Now I just need to write the middle of the book :laugh: Prologue, chapter 1, and epilogue (almost) done. About 4,000 words.

Of course! Well, as long as there is no sparkle humping, I'm into it, Lol... :laugh:
 
So I've been thinking about the main plot all day yesterday and today. I have so many ideas, I just can't get them connected efficiently. It's driving me insane! maybe if I sit down and write out some possible outlines something will click.
 
My best friend Corey is trying to solicit my brother and I into attempting this. I've been plotting ideas for a while now, but I've yet to come up with a concrete story line. It sounds fun though, and I know that I had better start REALLY soon, because it's a long haul ahead.

Good luck fellow writers, and I'll share my account name once I get it up.

I'm trying to do goal of 2,000 words a day. Of course I'm trying to overshoot that goal early in the month because I know once thanksgiving comes around I'll be more apt to slack.

Just finished the epilogue and I'm at 4,002.

Now I've got some serious thinking to do.

I'm very impressed. I did the word count... 346 words. I'm so far behind it's sad!
 
yeah I just went and half re-wrote my prologue. I kind of changed the plot in my head a bit so I went and changed the prologue to match. Added some wordcount with the new one too :)
 
so what's everyone writing about? I already admitted to non-humping vampires that don't have sparkly babies.
 
Mine is titled Serpentine Seduction. I was having a complete case of writers block and just decided to use my screen name on there as the novel basis. I'm basically going for a fantasy/occult theme, while also having all kinds of wonderful snakes and keepers with random bits of information about them and good keeping strewn throughout. I'm not even inventing any new snakes! Although I do think I'm going to throw in a Naga or two in the later chapters. :D
 
Okay, I'm up to 920 words. Mine is a ghost story/love story based around an agency who recruits "corporeal identities".
 
Mine is a WW2 era Steampunk that is already proving to be totally directionless. Awesome! :) I'm up to about 2K words and have to go to bed. :(
