Need advice from BP owners...

:eek1:Wow! This is an amazing thread! Poor little BP. There are 4 BP in my co-op housing, (I'm the only one with a corn snake :grin01:) so I spend a lot of time around BPs and I find it so sad that someone would abuse a snake like that. I'm so glad he is getting better! Sending good vibes! :D

Actually...I posted an update on this "guy". "He" is actually a she...I popped her today and found that out...but her name is still King...whatever...she's mine and I like the name ;).

She is eating like a horse, though...a starving horse. I was HOPING to get her to eat 1 fuzzy every four days...she took 2 weaners 3 days ago. Tomorrow is feeding day...we'll see how it goes...

You can see updated pictures at THIS update thread.

Jason-I know! I live with 60 people. 5 of us have snakes. It is all girls who own them and 4 of them are Ball Pythons! I like them but after much research I think that Kiara is a much better fit for me, thought I would like one or a rosy boa later in life maybe when I have more than one room to keep all my pets.

It also distresses me that I am the one that is keeping one of the girls from messing things up with hers. She should not own a snake because:
a) doesnt want it to grow so has been under feeding it - I put a stop to that I think...
b) didnt do anything until I pointed out that her snake hadnt fully shed and she needed to get the extra skin off.
c) Carries it around for about 8 hours a day in our cold house (I havnt had the courage to tell her that isnt a great idea)
d) And is grossed out by feeding her snake and "cant watch" it eat and is grossed out by cleaning the viv as well...

As soon as her snake starts eating rats she's not going to be able to deal with it. I swear she's CRAZY! My house collectively owns a leopard gecko which got lost and she cried because she thought she was the only one who cared it got lost by stoned college students (my bf and I are the ones who actually take care of it) When we found the lizard, she wanted to take it away from all of us because she felt we couldnt take care of it, but when she saw 50 crickets together in a bag she freaked out and ran out of the room. *sigh*

Sorry to rant about this here but I am reminded of her by the story of King Tula. Luckily she has a good set up because the place she bought it from wouldnt let her go too wrong and neither will I...gr....

I put that emoticon because I got the impression that you have four ball pythons in one cage? If that's true, then you might want to think about separating them...
