need advice. good deal?

I would have to say no, not really. That is way to small for a corn, so you would have to upgrade to a larger uth and tank. That is just my two cents. :)

im planning on just housing the hatchling corn in there for a couple months and moving it to a bigger fish tank soon, thanks for your advice :) in terms of price, goood?

Well, in turns of price. I would have to say no again. But if you need a tank, then buy it. I just think you could spend less money on buying a 10 gallon tank, uth and lid. $80 is a bit to much....

thanks leo... i have a 10 gallon, i just figured if i bought a uth, and one of those reptile lids for it + a uth, it'll be about 60-70 bucks, the design of this tank in the ad is nice, i thought it was much more expensive at the stores

Nah, that is still way too much! I think you could buy a tank and a UTH for about half that price... maybe a little more. A 10-gallon UTH costs less than $20. I think you could use your tank and buy a screen lid for about $15 - 20. That's only $40.

Those tanks have a bunch of little holes that would make me nervous with a hatchling snake. Better for a toad or something. I'd stick with a normal, escape-proof tank for a snake.

I wouldn't do it. Check your local Craigslist and aquarium shops. I got a 10 gallon for $5 the other day, from someone who just wanted to get rid of it. Often aquarium shops and clubs will have sales to get rid of old or damaged (won't hold water anymore) tanks. Not suitable for fish, but just fine for reptiles.

I know a 10 gallon Critter Cage with locking lid and a UTH brand new should cost you only about $70.00 Canadian. I'd be nervous to put a hatchling in that type of caging. I don't think anyways in terms of price, this guy is offering up much of a deal.:shrugs:

I agree that a baby could probably get out of an exoterra.

Walmart near me has 10 g aquariums for $10.87. Petsmart has them for $11.99.

I think you could easily buy a 10 g tank, a screen, screen lid clips, and a brand new UTH for less. Plus, it would be new and you would not have to disinfect it due to previous animals.

It baffles my mind how people put up used equipment on classifieds for prices that you could get brand new equipment for. When you buy something new you get a receipt and, usually, a limited warranty (like if it malfunctions within a week or two you can bring it back to the store).

It does look like a nice tank, but if I were going to buy a nice display cage for my corn I would want to invest in a 20 g L or equivalent, because you are going to need to upgrade anyways.

Honestly...

You could spend about $30 if you just get a tub and a UTH. $40 with a dimmer. That seems much more practical to me than spending $80 on a 10 gallon tank with a UTH. Not only that, but in my opinion, tubs are so much easier to clean and work with. I had a 10 gallon with a screen that I was getting ready to use, but the tank cracked, the screen was loose fitting, and I spent way too much money on it.

Biggest problem?! The UTH probably covers the entire bottom of that tank and therefore you won't have a cool and warm "end" to the tank. Those make excellent Tarantula tanks!! . . . I personally wouldn't pay $80 for what he's offering. You should be able to get the same thing for less than that brand new. :shrugs:
