Need photo critiquing...are any of these good?

I LOVE 9,3, and 11 :) But they are all really nice in their own way :) You have a very good eye for photography :)

I like 1,2 & 12. Not much consensus here yet...

lol...IMHO, 1, 2, 11, and 12 are the least effective.

The rest are pretty good...some are a little dark...how did you meter those shots?

With 1 and 2, the subject is too centered...and in 2, there is not enough depth of field.

3 and 4 are my favorites

I agree with your assessment, but the only reason I didn't care for 3, its a bit out of focus on the branch, and not in a good way.

Imma fan of #3 :) But they are all neato. 1 isn't really..calling me..and neither are the last 2. The last two need more too it..

I really love #10. I think that winter is wonderful weather to shoot. Sure, it may not be full of flowers, spring greens, and bees buzzing but I quite like the quiet dreariness of winter.

I think you are selling yourself short. They are all very nicely done.

ditto from me. (Though by now I'm sick of it  I want spring to get here!). I like dreariness.

Thank you all the for the help! I took into consideration every single post. Those who offered advice were very much appreciated, taking a really good photograph is no easy task! I went out the day after this post and took many more, trying to get more of a focus and better composition for each photo. Here's what I got:

How can I make these old crab apples look less like their randomly hanging? Is the background too strong?

Someday I will take a photography class! :)

Thanks for your opinion Janine. Maybe the ones I have from a further distance are most interesting to look at? I figured since the woods were wet, slushy and rather dreary....no one would want to see the scattered twiggy trees. lol

I didn't save the ones that show more of the landscape....only these:

Oh now that's more like a winner right there! The cabin through the trees, for me, has much more drama and a story to tell. I like the macro ones, I enjoy trying to get those sort of shots myself, but showing just how dark and dreary the landscape is works for me!

The second photo, the macro of the fallen tree, I think might look even better as a black and white. As well I have to agree that the last photo, the old house through the trees, is the best yest!!

I would try the fallen tree over the water one in black and white too, just to see what came out, I like it though.
I like the barn one...but I think I would have tried walking forward maybe about 5 or 10 more feet, so a little more of the barn in the pic, a little less of the woods, but not too much less.
I also like the 2nd pic in post #31. With the branches into the water.
